Our Family and Friends

Our parents have been true role models for us as a couple. They are wonderfully supportive, great listeners, and they have each been happily married for over 35 years!  We feel blessed that both of our parents live within a few hours of our home so that we can visit and call them often.  Luckily, Laurie’s sister, also a first grade teacher, lives just a short drive away. We plan many vacations together, whether it be Thanksgiving in Bend, Oregon, or a summer weekend in Monterey.

Our travel and vacations frequently include a family visit.  We just returned from visiting Larry’s sister in Seattle, and we go every couple of years to a big family reunion in Canada, where Laurie’s mom’s family still lives and has strong family roots.  We can’t wait to bring our baby to the next reunion.  He or she will be the twentieth great grandchild on that side of the family.

Our family and friends love to celebrate…just about anything!  There are always big get-togethers for holidays, birthdays, graduations and special events. Our home has become a gathering place for family and friends. Everyone is so excited about welcoming the newest member of the family!  There is sure to be a big welcome party. We have a close circle of friends, most of whom now have children of their own.  There are playmates, and babysitters waiting for a new baby to join in the fun when we all get together.
